Snowmobiling

 Located in the middle of Price and Sawyer County snowmobile country,  trail excursions from Flambeau Forest Resort can offer you the area’s best snowmobiling for the winter.

Price and Sawyer County are considerd one of the premier snowmobiling areas in the state of Wisconsin, with more than 500 miles of state-funded and club trails.  We can offer direct access to miles of connecting trails off of TRAIL 82.  Groomers keep the trail system in immaculate condition. 

Enjoy the Phillips area Winter Fest, Poker Run, Radar Run, Motorcycle and ATV races on Big Elk Lake,  and the Northwoods Challenge Race Series on Lake Duroy.

 

From Flambeau Forest Resort You can access:

Trails through the 90,000-acre Flambeau River State Forest system. 

Trails through the 800,000-acre Chequamegon National Forest.  

Trails from Park Falls to Rice Lake on the Tuscobia Trail System. 

Trails from Prentice to Medford, the Pine Line Trail.

Cross Country Skiing

If you enjoy skiing, then we have just what you're looking for! The Flambeau Hills Ski Trails are just minutes from our door. Fourteen miles of beautifully groomed scenic trails offer you the added enjoyment of winter's beauty and excitement in the real Wisconsin northwoods.

There are a total of 10 cross country ski trails that are maintained for your winter enjoyment in Price County. Enjoy the many events Price and Sawyer Counties have to offer in wintertime. Candle Light Skiing at Flambeau Hills is an event that is sure to be an amazing experience. Enjoy the festivities of --  or participate in -- the American Birkebeiner in Hayward, a short drive northwest of our resort.

Whatever your pleasure, you're sure to enjoy a winter wonderland of beauty.

 

 

Local Ski trails you can access:

The longest trail in the area is Flambeau Hills Ski Trails. 14 miles of groomed trails. 

8 mile trail in the Flambeau River State Forest/ connects with the Flambeau Trail to the south,  The Oxbo Ski Trail. 

6.3 mile trail, in Phillips, Log Jam Ski Trail.  

6 miles of moderately hilly and rolling terrain, the Holy Cross Ski Trails 

3.4 miles of trails, good for the beginner, the Solberg Lake Trail.  

In the Chequamegon, there is a 7 mile trail, with 160 year old hardwood, the Round Lake Ski Trail. 

In the Chequamegon, there is a 6 mile trail, designed for the beginner/intermediate skiier, the Newan Springs Ski Trail 

In the Chequamagon, there is a 5.8 mile, more challenging trail, theWintergreen Ski Trail. 

To the south, 5 miles east of Ogema, are 7.5 miles of hilly terrain, the Timm's Hill/Highpoint Ski Trails. 

A privately owned facility, log cabin accomodations, family style meals, with 23 miles of trails,Palmquists "The Farm"is a unique experience.
